Impact Report — Sex Worker Wellness Event, June 2026

Sex Worker Wellness Event

June 15, 2026 Zoom Wellness Event Reported by Mari Leon-Hernandez

To create a space for fellow workers to unpack challenges by sharing with each other in community, to receive information on resources, and to form connections, receive care and empathy.

Audience served: Sex Workers and Adult Workers

To create a space for Queer Sex Workers to share their story, receive care and support. Many LGBTQ+ sex workers face isolation and lack access to affirming community spaces.

Why now: The current state of the country's administration and deficient protections related to LGBTQIA2S human rights and barriers to accessing community care make this work more urgent than ever.
  • Create awareness about these wellness events
  • Cultivate a safe space for SWers who might otherwise be isolated
  • Create community and share resources

Event took place virtually on Zoom. A topic for discussion was prepared and participants were invited to share what was most alive for them. The meeting was opened with brief introductions, then Selena offered prompts and Soujin offered a meditation to close the event. Partners: LAST Collective.

How Funds Will Be UsedTo be invested back into the campaign

Sliding scale / free access. Virtual via Zoom.

Having the LAST partnership helped boost visibility and social media event awareness. Going forward, more posts should be scheduled in advance. The wellness coordinators recognize the need for a Code of Ethics / Community Agreements in light of a transphobic comment made during the event. Community agreements will be instated before the next session to support respectful discussion of trans issues.

Next Wellness event: July 8th — Girl for Hire: Putting on Gender — The Price of Gender Performance. This campaign offers the community an opportunity to expand ideas and attitudes about adult work beyond right/wrong, good/bad binaries. Supporters can stay involved by participating in wellness events and spreading the word.
